Our macabeo is an impressive grape that arrived at our winery on 12 September, where the grapes were fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. While we could have made it a monocepage, that does not fit the profile of our Sons line. Instead, we combined the grapes with our wood-aged chardonnay, which is also used for our beloved the Fat Lady Sings. The juice was aged in oak cask for only 3-4 months, comparable to our The Fat Lady sings, which will be released in September. Malolactic fermentation was quite late due to the cold days in our winery, allowing us to bottle this late Son in May. Apart from a small addition of sulphites – which we use to prevent the growth of unwanted micro-organisms – and our organic wine yeast, this wine contains no other additives, just grape juice in other words. We used a cellulose filter to filter the wine.
Our Fathers line is characterised by a classical approach and traditional methods. Here all wines are monocépages; each wine is made from just one specific grape variety, resulting in complex and character-driven wines with a true expression of each grape, always with that urban twist and signature that makes it a Chateau Amsterdam wine.

Our Grandsons are easy and light-hearted European blends. Two different grapes from two different countries are mixed together in one and the same bottle. The blends are chosen together with our customers, head winemaker and partner farmers, to create new, exciting profiles with popular grapes that you can’t find anywhere else.
